Not all Heroes Wear Capes! On this Mom Powered Business feature we are thrilled to introduce you to @lil_orchard_foods"My name is Kristi and I own Lil' Orchard Baby Foods. 2 years ago, I had to transition my daughter to solid foods and didn't know where to begin. I wasn't happy with the processed, room temperature baby food on the store shelves so I started making all her food at home.I saw an opportunity to help other families wanting healthier food options and launched Lil' Orchard in March 2017.Our purees are just like homemade- we only use market fresh fruits and vegetables and wash, peel, steam, puree, strain and flash freeze in convenient 1 oz cubes. The only ingredient ever added is filtered water, and only enough to get food moving in the blender. These cubes are so handy to have in the freezer for super quick baby and toddler meals. Simply thaw and serve on their own or get creative and try different combinations. We are excited to offer our purees in the big freezer at Chongo's Produce Market (in Crossroads Farmers Market, 1235 - 26 Ave SE) and now SPUD.ca delivers our purees to your door in Calgary and Edmonton (and surrounding areas)! .
Tidie Tip!
It’s important to get the right angle when you install your child’s car seat. Installation procedures vary from model to model, so you need to read and follow the instructions in the manual that came with your particular seat and ??
If you are at all unsure about whether you’re installing it correctly, give the Tidie Team a call or book in to one of our upcoming Car Seat Clinics!
Check the owner’s manual and your car seat for information about correct tilt angles and how to achieve them. Most rear-facing and convertible seats have some kind of built-in levelling device, and most also have a level indicator. Sometimes the indicator has a device such as a bubble, ball, or colour that tells you when the seat is at the correct angle. In other cases there is a reference line etched or pasted onto the seat. Be sure your vehicle is on a level surface when you use the indicator.
If you can’t achieve the correct angle with the levelling device on your seat, or if your seat doesn’t have a built-in levelling device, you can use a rolled towel or “pool noodle” at the crease of the vehicle seat to help position the infant seat at the correct angle.
Everyone knows you're not supposed to wake a sleeping baby, that is, if you can get baby to sleep in the first place
As parents we all know the sleep struggle too well! According to the Government of Canada it is not safe for a baby to sleep for long periods of time in products such as strollers, car seats, or baby carriers, that keep him/her in a seated or semi-reclined position.
Move your baby to a crib, cradle or bassinet for naps or overnight sleep, or once you have reached your destination.
