• Carry Salmonella and other bacteria

• Lay hundreds of eggs each year

• Light to dark brown with 2 cream colored bands across the base of wings and abdomen, ? inch in length

• More slender, straw colored with a pale creamy stripe on the outer edge of the thorax
• 19-25mm                      
• Common in cottage country

• Feed on decaying organic matter
